Fengjia Night Market - Taichung's Pride and One of Taiwan's Largest Hubs for Creative Street Food

Fengjia Night Market

About Fengjia Night Market

Spreading out around Feng Chia University in Taichung City's Xitun District, Fengjia Night Market (逢甲夜市) is one of the largest night markets in Taiwan by area. Because it grew out of the bustling student quarter surrounding the university, it's brimming with trendy, youth-oriented food and fashion. It's also famous as a launchpad where Taiwan's newest food trends are born.

Must-Try Street Food

  • Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang (大腸包小腸) — a Fengjia signature: a grilled Taiwanese pork sausage tucked inside a larger sticky-rice "sausage." Hearty and incredibly satisfying
  • Sweet Potato Balls (地瓜球) — bite-sized snacks that are crispy on the outside and wonderfully chewy on the inside
  • Minglun Egg Pancake (明倫蛋餅) — a Taiwanese-style crepe of chewy dough wrapped around egg, from a hugely popular stall where lines are all but guaranteed
  • Golden Right Leg (黃金右腿) — a giant, crispy fried chicken leg and a flagship of Fengjia's street food scene
  • Guan Zhi Lin Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang (官芝霖大腸包小腸) — Fengjia Night Market's most renowned Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang stall, with a history spanning more than 20 years

What to See

The market area is vast, and hidden gems are scattered not only along the main street but down the side alleys too. For an efficient route, focus your wandering around Wenhua Road (文華路) and Fuxing Road (福星路). There are also plenty of clothing and accessory shops, so you can enjoy not just the food but a full evening of shopping as well.
