Liuhe Night Market — Kaohsiung's After-Dark Feast of Fresh Seafood and Tropical Fruit

Liuhe Night Market (Kaohsiung)

About Liuhe Night Market

Located in Kaohsiung's Xinxing District, Liuhe Night Market is the city's most famous tourist night market. Its greatest draw is the seafood, prepared from the abundant catch unique to southern Taiwan. Here you can feast on the freshest seafood in the open, easygoing atmosphere of the tropical south — a world apart from the night markets of Taipei.

Recommended Eats

  • Papaya Milk (Mu Gua Niu Nai) — The signature drink of Kaohsiung's Liuhe Night Market. Fresh papaya blended with milk right before your eyes
  • Seafood Congee — A rich, hearty rice porridge loaded with shrimp, oysters, squid, and other treasures of the southern Taiwanese sea
  • Kao Rou Zhi Jia (charcoal grill house) — All kinds of charcoal-grilled skewers, with the seafood skewers being especially popular
  • Danzai Noodles (Dan Zai Mian) — A petite noodle dish that originated in Tainan. Its broth, infused with the rich flavor of shrimp, is simply exquisite
  • Danzai Noodles (Dan Zai Mian) — A celebrated noodle dish from Tainan. At Liuhe Night Market, popular stalls serve up this authentic regional specialty
